Andrea Reyes is a San Antonio contemporary abstract painter. Her artistic process began at an early age when she took pastel, clay, and painting classes in her hometown of Piedras Negras, Mexico. Her inspirations principally come by being in the present time and having moments of innocence, experimentation, discovery, and also by acting spontaneously in her work following her instincts. The paintings are characterized by using a variation of colors and tonalities by using mixed media. Drawing and photography are other medias that are big elements of her artwork.
Ms. Reyes completed a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Painting and a Minor in Business Administration in the University of Texas at San Antonio in December of 2015. Taught painting courses in Piedras Negras, Mexico during the summer of 2015 and is currently working as an art professor at private schools in San Antonio, Texas.
She is currently exhibiting a solo show at Provenance Gallery in San Antonio, Texas for the month of August 2016. Has had various group shows at San Antonio, Texas including a participation as an undergraduate student in the 31st Art Student Exhibition in the University of Texas at San Antonio Art Gallery from March through April in 2015 were two paintings and a drawing of hers took part of the exhibition juried by Sandra C. Fernández, Assistant Professor in The University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Reyes graduated with a BFA Group Exhibition in the University of Texas at San Antonio Art Gallery in December of 2015 exhibiting a series of paintings.
